Trip Introduction

Langtang Valley is the nearest Himalayan Region from Kathmandu valley, few hours drive from athmandu, the Langtang Region is as wild as any Tibetan highlands with idyllic rural landscape. The people living in the highlands of the Langtang region are certainly Nepalese but beKathmandu will take you to the beautiful Langtang region. Despite being very close to King the descendant of the Tibetan origin, they look like the Tibetans. Hence, Langtang region is one of the most popular trekking regions for those wishing a short trek from Kathmandu into the Himalayas influenced by Tibetan lifestyle. Moreover, accompanying with the varieties of rhododendron, bamboo forests, majestic waterfalls and snow-capped Himalayas make the trek one of the most diverse treks nearby Kathmandu.

The 10 Days Langtang Valley Trek starts with a day’s bus ride from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. We begin the walk from Syabrubesi. We head upward to Lama Hotel and Langtang village until we arrive at the famous Kanyanjing Gompa. After exploring the region, we trek the same route to Syabrubesi from where we drive back to Kathmandu.

Your safety is of paramount concern while traveling with parpati kund home stay. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary; however, since this adventure entails travelling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we will not deviate from it. Weather conditions, health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required.

The Trekking Group

For the Langtang Valley Trek, there will be one leader, assistant leader (4 trekkers:1 assistant guide) and Sherpa porters for luggage carrying (2 trekkers:1 porter) This arrangement ensures that should any body in the group is sick, the trip can still go ahead as planned. We can run the Langtang valley Trek for group of any size, but generally we include maximum of twelve people as we’ve found this to be the optimum size for a successful trip. However, if you’d like to make a group booking for more than twelve people together, we can arrange this too.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01:  Arrival in Kathmandu – 1,300m/4,264 ft
Upon your arrival in the Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by a representative from with parpati kunda home stay members . After completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc) pick up your luggage and look for our representative with a parpati kunda home stay display board at the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to  hotel. After check in, you will visit meet your trekking guide as well as other participants. Later in the evening we will organize a “Welcome Dinner” at an excellent traditional Nepalese Restaurant where you will enjoy a Nepalese cultural program along with a fine meal. Day 02:  Kathmandu Sightseeing & Preparation for the Trek
Today after breakfast we start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu. The day will also be for finalizing official procedure and other necessary arrangements. You will be also briefed on the nature of the trek, equipments and team composition. Some of landmarks we visit include the World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhu Nath) and Buddhists shrine (Bouddha Nath).  In the afternoon, there will be a pre-trip discussion where we can meet our trek leader and other team members. You can also make your last minute buying of personal items as you will be flying to the Himalayas tomorrow.(B)reakfast
Day 03:  Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550m/5,100ft): 145 km/ 7 hrs
After morning breakfast we drive out along the north-western hills of Kathmandu. Enjoy the Himlayan views and mountainous lifestyle through the terraced fields and rustic villages. Take Lunch at the Trishuli Bazar before continuing further to  Dhunche. From Dhunche, we descent down to Syabrubesi. (B,L,D)
Day 04:  Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m/7,830ft): 6 hrs
This is our first day of trekking today.  Follow the Langtang Khola River. Pass through the dense forests.   Cross several suspension bridges. We also pass by a tea houses.  The trail goes up and down but it’s not that challenging. (B,L,D)
Day 05:  Trek to Langtang village (3,430m/11,253ft): 6/7 hr
After taking morning tea, we embark our second day of the journey. Our trail continues along dense forests. After making a steady climb up through the valley, we leave the tree line behind us. Enjoy the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung.  Pass by water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. (B,L,D)
Day 06:  Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft): 3-1/2 hr
After taking morning tea and breakfast, we get out of the village and pass on through yak pastures.  Also pass the largest mani wall in Nepal, made from stone with prayers written on them. The prayers written on the mani wall is supposed to be blown away by the wind.  Cross several of the wooden bridges.  Since, we are really getting into the high altitudes, you might start feeling the thin air. Gompa. Kanjin Gompa is surrounded by the Himalayas all around. You can take a walk around Kanjin Gompa enjoying the views, glaciers, icefalls, birds and yaks. (B,L,D)
Day 07:  Visit to knyanjing  Ri and trek back to same hotel
Early morning we visit to kyanjing Ri  (4200mtrs) for mountain sunrise view and for the mountainring views.
Day 08:  Trek back to lama hotel
After breakfast, we trek down to lama hotel, about 6/7hours walk. Enjoy the easy trail mostly downhill through lush green vegetation. Arriving lama hotel,
Day 09:  trek to syaphru bensi
After breakfast we drive back to Kathmandu. Arriving Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel. Spend the day leisurely or catch up on some last minute shopping or explore any sights you missed during your first day in Kathmandu. In the evening, celebration dinner together. After breakfast we drive back to Kathmandu. Arriving Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel. Spend the day leisurely or catch up on some last minute shopping or explore any sights you missed during your first day in Kathmandu. In the evening, celebration dinner
Day 11:  Farewell Friend
We are saying good bye to the mountains as journey in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with travel companions and organize the photos. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight a representative from Himalayan parpati kunda home stay will take you to the airport. On your way home you’ll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.(B)

Health and Experience Requirements

Our 10-days Langtang Trek is moderate trek suitable for passionate walkers who have ability to walk at least 5-6 hours a day with a light day pack. Some days, you might even need to walk little more hours too. Walking in higher altitude is physically demanding than walking in the lower altitudes; however, if you are in excellent health with average physical fitness and have positive attitude, self confidence and strong determination, you can accomplish the Langtang valley trek successfully. Exercising and jogging regularly for some weeks prior of the trip is good idea to enhance your strength and stability. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip. It is vital that you consult with your doctor before you decide and set up for the Langtang Sanctuary Trek. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood disease should inform to parpati kunda home stay before booking the trek.
